Thirty-five years ago, Dr. Bacila started a company to raise sheep. Not to make supplements. Not to build a laboratory. To raise sheep.

He had been a veterinarian for nearly twenty years by then, and it showed in how he watched them. His animals were eating well, but they weren't doing as well as they should have been. Their coats, their condition, their weight, all just short of right. The kind of thing most people would never notice, and most who noticed would accept.

He didn't accept it. He looked closer and found the answer in their digestion.

So he set out to fix it. He went looking for something that could help, and in Brazil at that time, there was nothing, so he developed it himself. A live-yeast compound, made for his own flock, in his own pasture, with no market in mind.

His sheep got better. That was all he had wanted.

But it stayed with him, the thought that if it worked this well for his animals, there were a great many dogs, cats and horses that could be doing better too.

A laboratory born from a field.

That thought became a laboratory. Organnact was the first in Brazil to bet on gut health, on probiotics and intestinal modulators for companion animals and horses, at a time when almost no one was looking there.

Today we are a national reference in animal intestinal health and one of Brazil's largest and most respected veterinary laboratories, now carrying that work beyond our borders to new markets and new families.

Thirty-five years later, we still build everything the same way he built that first formula: for an animal we can picture, whose owner wants better for them.
